Would you like to treat your dogs to a really fun time? Check out Camp Happy Tails in Felton. This is a cage-less environment with ponds, a waterfall, shade trees, and sun porches, even a fire hydrant for our macho friends! The Camp is a perfect place for your pups to enjoy meeting friends, while under close supervision. Our Camp Counselors have a special way with dogs. Some of the dog’s activities include chasing, digging, wrestling, and playing. After rigorous play, there are times when they are napping. The Camp is secure and supervised at all times. Your dogs will get plenty of exercise and be tired, happy and relaxed when you pick them up from their fun day. There is also Taxi service available for pick up and drop off of your dogs from Boulder Creek to Rio Del Mar. This is the perfect solution for dogs with the backyard blues, destructive behavior, or puppies that need extra socialization exposure and attention while you are away at work. We are open Monday through Friday Year-round, except major holidays.
Camp Happy Tails is the vision of owner, Lisa Olivo. She was looking for a way to enhance her pet setting service because some dogs get lonely when left home alone for long periods of time and engage in barking or destructive behaviors.
All dogs must be neutered or spayed and must have the full spectrum of immunizations including a bordtella for kennel cough. We need copies of your immunization records. We require a meet and greet by appointment prior to starting at Camp. Please call the office at 831-247-8245 to schedule. We do not accept dogs with anti social behavior tendencies. Most dogs should be at least 6 months of age prior to starting at Camp.
Pet sitting in your home is the best solution to care for your pets when you need to be away. They get to stay in the comfort of their familiar surroundings, but while owners are away, we have been using the Camp to supplement the care for dogs by picking them up, bringing them to Camp for a fun filled day and then taking them home, giving them dinner, and tucking them in. If needed Happy Tails will provide a pet sitter to come by in the evenings for a potty break. We repeat this service returning daily. They get tons of exercise with lots of activities to keep them engaged, so they don’t get lonely at home just waiting for their owners to return. It is a way for your dogs to be able to take a vacation too, but because they’re so attached to their territory and are very routine driven, this care plan helps them feel secure and more relaxed by allowing them to sleep in their own beds, eat from their own dishes and be surrounded by the familiar and comforting scents in their own homes. Please call our office for more information. We look forward to meeting you and your pet family!
In the last 9 years of pet sitting, we have found that some dogs are more lonely staying at home and need more attention than pet sitting visits, so we have made boarding available. We are still a cage-less environment to play and exercise all day, but in the evenings we have a nice warm cozy lodge for them to stay in. We encourage dog owners to bring their dogs own food, bowl, bed a favorite toy and crate if they have one. We also encourage the owners to place a piece of their worn clothing which has their scent on it to keep with their bedding which will help the dogs have a little bit of home close to them. It is a wonderful place for them to be able to play and relax and have company without the traditional boarding scene, which usually includes lots of barking dogs filled with anxiety because they’re confined, nervous and lonely. We have staff that will be attentive to your pups 24/7, 365 days a year, including holidays.
Due to the fact that this is a cage-less environment, we still require a meet & greet to make sure that your dog will be a good candidate for “The Lodge” at Camp Happy Tails. We require a copy of your dog’s vaccination record including DHLPP, Bordetella & Rabies. We also require dogs to be on medication for heartworm prevention and also for flea & tick control. We only accept altered dogs.
We also allow owner pick up’s over the weekend at the time that works for you, not just between 4:00 & 5:00PM on a Sunday. Please let us know when you check your dog in what time you would like to pick your dog up.
We do suggest that you have your dog attend a day or two at our Camp prior to boarding so that they are familiar with the scents here and know that this is a place that they have already had a positive experience being here, not somewhere that is totally new to them. This will help alleviate any anxiety that your dog might have being dropped off here.
Space is limited on purpose, we do not want to be a large kennel, we want to keep it cozy and calm, not large and hectic. Please make your reservations early to assure a space for your pup(s).
